How about being able to hear yourself and your bandmates WITHOUT having to endure the blasts of feedback and noise from those huge floor-wedge monitors? Bingo! If the seemingly complex world of personal (i.e. "In Ear") monitors has left you wondering, well, wonder no more. How does this work? The secret is in Shure's P2R Hybrid Bodypack Receiver. The P2R has a LOT packed into a small package, but the "hybrid" capability is really what makes the bodypack like nothing else out there. Both the wired and wireless PSM 200 systems include this unique device, which is capable of receiving both a wired and wireless signal at the same time. This has two benefits. First, this means that any musician can buy the wired system (P2R bodypack w/ cable & E2 Earphone) and upgrade later to wireless by simply adding the P2T TransMixer. Second, and perhaps the coolest part of the P2R, is what you can do with the wired and wireless signals. Take, for instance, a drummer who is receiving a wireless mix to his P2R, but he'd also like a click track to help him keep time. Since no one else will want to put up with a click, the drummer can supplement the wireless mix by plugging in via the Mix In 1/4" jack on the P2R. The drummer now has the click in his ears only, leaving his bandmates to enjoy his rock-solid pace. Keeping It Safe
Shure has always been a major proponent of hearing conservation, so including a non-defeatable limiter on the PSM 200 was a no-brainer. The "LIM" LED indicator on top of the P2R bodypack will illuminate when you've reached the highest possible volume, and it won't get any louder. This feature is specifically geared to help educate less experienced users to know when they are getting really loud. Now, we can't guarantee freedom from hearing loss because there are too many factors at work (genetics, lifestyle, how you are using the system, etc.), but this at least provides you with a guide to help you know when your sound levels are getting up there. Now on to what makes it all go wireless-the P2T Wireless TransMixer, the world's first wireless personal monitor transmitter and two-channel mixer in one. It has combo mic/line (1/4" / XLR) inputs on the front panel, so you can plug in anything from a microphone to a keyboard. Each input's level is independently controllable, so you can dial in the perfect amount of just what you want to hear using the front panel knobs. The frequency-select button and LED display gives you complete control of the P2T's eight (available) channels.
